Adapting And Persisting

Flexibility is obviously important. Adapt to new conditions instead of just doing something because you set out to do it. However, if you allow yourself to be flexible at every point, then you’ll always wonder if your current course of action is the best you could take. You’d never be persistent enough or focused enough to see anything through to the end.

It may seem obvious to you. But it sure wasn’t obvious for me. At least not in such a concrete way.

So now I seek a balance. I still don’t know how to achieve it. I keep tinkering with it.

My current micro experiment is of being flexible between the days but rigid throughout each separate day. Defining my few numbered priorities for the day at its start, with the goal of abiding by them for the day’s entirety.

Perhaps you’ve never thought of this, or perhaps you have. Either way, how do you approach this balance?
