The Past Is Gone

The past is gone.

Regardless of what happened, for good or bad, the past is gone. This Thought however is specifically about the bad. Because the bad is what we think of. Or at least, it’s what we think of that brings us down.

Our mistakes, our missed opportunities, our wrong decisions, our wrongdoings, our unsaid (or wrongly said) words. Whatever it may have been. It stuck. It stuck with us.

But why should it? It is gone.

There’s nothing you can do about it. So accept it and move on.

This is obvious. You know it. But it’s not because it is obvious that you really know it. That you act in a manner that reflects it.

Because we think, but we also feel. And sometimes, it’s hard to just think.

So I’m here to remind you—and my future self every time it inevitably falls down that thought process—that it is gone, and that mulling over it is actually just making your present and your future worse. Accepting it is taking the step of courage to become better. It’s not defeat, it’s a conquest.

The past is gone.
